GENESIS: THE BACKGROUND OF MY BIG QUESTION

Chapter 1

If there is anything in life that we know will always happen, then we immediately think of death. In the world there are about 6,316 deaths an hour. Death can happen to any person at any time at any age. My big question is "Is there anything besides the obvious that determines when we die?" We, as people, know the many ways of death; drunk driving, suicide, homicide, still born, a horrific accident, etc. However what if there was another type of death?

I've probably been alive to witness (not literally!)  10 or so deaths in my family, these past 16 years. All deaths were obvious yet horrific and for the sake of this essay I will not go right into detail of them. Death hadn't been my biggest interest, seeing as it was as inevitable as the sun coming up the next morning. However these past two years or so (2015 to now) I've been very curious on it. I want to know a lot about death and the many different ways you can die, besides the obvious.

My dad and grandpa dying probably sparked this interest. My dad died of a liver problem and my grandpa died of multiple stroke, trying to be the least descriptive. My father died first on November 2nd, 2015 and to this day (1/11/2016--- Off topic but can I wish a very happy 50th birthday to my dad. Hey dad, hope you have an amazing time up in heaven celebrating) I haven't really gotten over it. I understood the death and the cause but seeing as I am his child and love him dearly my heart won't let me really comprehend why he doesn't live in my house anymore or why I don't see him anymore. Getting back on topic, everyone in my family was devastated.

On January 26th my grandfather passed away. He was in the hospital for, I'm trying to remember, one week. He had a stroke after stroke until he died in the hospital. For some odd reason I thought this was strange. It made me wonder; If my dad didn't die then would my grandpa still be alive? It created a whole new sense on the idea of death. Is death like a domino effect? Does one death cause more? [This was my original BQ!]

Maybe grief has made me crazy but I'm very curious as to see what I can explore with this big question. I want to find the real reasons of death. I want to find out if one death causes more. I need to know this to achieve this year.

Gossip Girl     (I honestly don't know where this came from. Maybe I'm trying to be cool, maybe a dork but all I know is that it is currently 1am and I have school in 6 hours.)
